The Terrace is a 2,000 square foot outdoor patio located on the second floor of The Beckwith Boathouse. This space provides a beautiful view of the Iowa River and its surrounding features. Along with the view of the Iowa River, the glass windows on the north side of the Terrace provide an exclusive view of the team's Ergonomics Room. This space is ideal for any outdoor event including cocktail hours, luncheons, receptions, banquets, and other social gatherings.

*The University/Nonprofit rate does not apply to staff, faculty, or alumni who would like to reserve the space for personal use.

Flooding

In the event of possible flooding of the Iowa River, the city has the right to cancel your event. We stand by their decision, and we do not provide a backup space for your event. 

Liability Insurance

All University organizations are covered under the University's policy. 

All Public and Nonprofit organizations are required to have liability insurance for their event. The link below provides the contract and insurance needed. Insurance is needed in the occurrence of property damage to our facility or if someone is injured and brings a claim against the contract holder and/or The University. Security

Each individual event is subject to require security personnel in addition to the rental pricing. Once we have reviewed the specific event in detail, a decision will be made as to if security is required or not. Beginning July 2015, all events will be required to have at least 1 Whelan security staff on site during the event. 

*No public access to the boat dock, locker rooms, or the Erg room.

Handicap Accessibility 

There is guest access to the ground level entrance of the building as well as an elevator inside for access to each event space.

Parking

Parking is free daily in the Beckwith Boathouse Parking Lot. No overnight parking.
